This page documents the Backcountry Signal SMS opt-in workflow and disclosures for carrier and provider review.

1. Exact Opt-In Language (Website)

2. Opt-In Workflow

  1. User visits https://backcountrysignal.com
  2. User enters mobile number and checks the SMS consent checkbox to sign up
  3. System sends a confirmation text: "Reply YES to confirm"
  4. If YES, user is subscribed. Two-way messaging begins when the user texts the service.
  5. User can STOP anytime.

Confirmation request:

"Backcountry Signal: Reply YES to confirm you want to receive texts from Backcountry Signal. Msg freq varies. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help."

Welcome after YES:

"Backcountry Signal: You're subscribed. Text your question anytime. Msg freq varies. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help."

HELP message:

"Backcountry Signal HELP: For support contact support@backcountrysignal.com. Msg freq varies. Reply STOP to cancel."

STOP confirmation:

"Backcountry Signal: You've been unsubscribed and will no longer receive messages. To rejoin, visit https://backcountrysignal.com"
